[News] JBD’s Hummingbird II Polychrome Projector Named a CES Innovation Awards 2026 Honoree

JBD, a global leader in MicroLED microdisplays, announced that its Hummingbird II polychrome projector has been named a CES Innovation Awards® 2026 Honoree in the XR & Spatial Computing category.

The world-renowned CES Innovation Awards program, owned and produced by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), is an annual competition honoring outstanding design and engineering in 36 tech product categories.

Hummingbird II Polychrome Projector

Introduced in September, the Hummingbird II is JBD’s latest polychrome projector built on a 0.1-inch MicroLED microdisplay and an optimized X-Cube optical architecture. The system achieves an exceptionally compact 0.2 cm³ volume and an ultra-light 0.5 gram weight—both 50% smaller than the previous generation—making it the smallest mass-produced full-color projector available today. The Hummingbird II delivers 10-bit color depth, a 25° field of view, and 3-lumen luminous flux. Power consumption can be as low as 50 mW under typical operating conditions.

With its dramatically miniaturized form factor, Hummingbird II addresses one of the biggest challenges in the development of full-color AR glasses: achieving true compactness without compromising performance. Its design unlocks far greater freedom in industrial design and system integration, enabling slimmer, more aesthetically refined consumer-grade AR glasses.

Being named a CES Innovation Awards 2026 Honoree reflects the industry’s recognition of JBD’s technological leadership and ongoing innovation in MicroLED microdisplays. Looking ahead, JBD will continue advancing competitive near-eye display products and solutions to accelerate the evolution of consumer AR.
