This was no ordinary journey, but an immersive experience through light and display—China’s first immersive themed cultural tourism train, the “Tianjin Time Tour”, officially embarked on its voyage!

Among its carriages, the Montage Fantasy Interactive Performance Carriage (Car 7) and the Immersive Time-Tunnel Carriage (Car 9) were collaboratively created by Unilumin Group, alongside China Railway Beijing Group, Tianjin Tourism (Holding) Co., Ltd., and Thinda Environment Technology Group (a company partially invested in by Unilumin’s affiliated fund). These carriages feature a full suite of Unilumin LED display terminals and UHD Metasight solutions, transforming the train from a retro green carriage into a “mobile cultural gallery”.

This innovative, scalable, and replicable new cultural tourism model not only won continuous praise from the inaugural passengers but also attracted attention from authoritative media outlets like CCTV and People’s Daily.

Unlike traditional trains, “Tianjin Time Tour” is structured around the main theme of “Fantasy Time,” comprising 10 themed carriages. While the first six are nostalgic seating carriages, Carriage 7 (Montage Fantasy Interactive Performance Carriage) and Carriage 9 (Time-Tunnel Carriage), crafted with Unilumin’s LED solutions, stand out as the uniquely ingenious highlights of the entire train.

Upon entering Carriage 7, a massive Unilumin LED screen unfolds along the carriage walls, creating a dynamic, fantasy stage. As the train starts, visuals dance to the rhythm—mountains, seas, clouds, and starry skies flash by in succession.

Here, passengers co-create the storyline with main non-player characters, becoming part of the narrative. Unilumin LED screens, paired with vibrant orange-toned decorations, weave a warm atmosphere. This space functions as both an art installation and a social hub for rest during the journey, where technology gains emotional warmth, turning the carriage into a moving piece of art.

Stepping into Carriage 9 initiates the “Tianjin Track Time Series” time-travel journey.

A customized 270° surround small-pitch LED ceiling screen by Unilumin, combined with glasses-free 3D stereoscopic visual effects, transforms the entire carriage into an immersive theater. From the bustling ancient Tianjin port during its heyday to the futuristic city skyline, history and the future coexist within the same space through light and display.

Beyond the LED display hardware, the project also incorporates Unilumin’s self-developed Blanc AI Image Quality Engine. Its high dynamic range and intelligent color calibration ensure every frame delivers a cinematic visual feast.

“LED + Cultural Tourism” Unveils a Replicable New Model
“Tianjin Time Tour” is a tourist train remodeled from a “green train” and represents an innovative model promoting the deep integration of transportation and cultural tourism. It precisely targets the demands of young trend-followers, family tourist groups, and leisure-seeking senior citizens.
