The String Machine sound of the Waldorf Streichfett is now also available for mobile productions on your iPad and iPhone. There is no compromise in the sound of the Streichfett for iOS, users will get the same sound as in the hardware and the plug-in version of the Streichfett. Based on the same dual sound engine as the Streichfett hardware and plug-in version, the app reproduces the tonal characteristics associated with string machines widely used in 1970s and 1980s film music.
Streichfett for iOS supports a wide range of sound design applications, from dense string textures to subtle, nuanced timbres. The instrument is designed to enable quick and intuitive sound creation for mobile music production.
In the plug-in version, the clearly structured user interface offers direct access to all important sound shaping parameters. Making and playing music is the main focus here. Sound adjustments can be made quickly using touch gestures, and user-created presets can be saved for future use.
The dual sound engine of the Streichfett features a fully polyphonic String Section and an eight voice Solo Section. The Ensemble effect adds movement and width to the String Section sound, while the Effects Section offers adjustable Phaser and Reverb. The Animate function can be used to modulate the Strings Registration, enabling gradual sound morphs.
The Solo Section includes presets named Bass, E-Piano, and Clavi, which provide percussive and textured sounds designed to complement the String Section. The user interface is straightforward, providing access to a complex sound engine capable of producing detailed pad sounds.
Users can play via the touchscreen or in AUv3 hosts such as Apple’s Logic Pro for iPad, or Steinberg’s Cubasis 3 and AUM for both iPad and iPhone. External MIDI controllers can be connected via USB.
Streichfett for iOS is now available in Apple’s App Store at an introductory price of 9.99 EUR (including VAT) / 9.99 USD until 13th July — rising thereafter to 17.99 EUR (including VAT) / 14.99 USD. For countries outside EU and US please verify local pricing in Apple’s AppStore.
